How long?

How long would you consider it polite to ring a CL (or CS) after you have emailed over a booking enquiry?  I only ask because it seems to be getting a more regular thing when I make booking enquiries.  On one occasion I was told when I eventually phoned up - "oh we can't be bothered with email, only look at it once in a blue moon"  am I worng to think that in that case remove the email enquiry option.  Its just that after attemtping to book one place on Monday (and getting a very strange response about signing a document regarding about my dog which stated that the dog must'nt wee or poo anywhere on the site, or even anywhere even on approach road to site, in fact  within 800m from site, which I declined)  I pinged off another enquiry and to date have'nt had a reply.  I really want to get this sorted before the kids go back to school and things get hetic at work again and the planned trip away is in October.  It then seems rude if and when people reply to tell them that you've given up on waiting and booked somewhere else.
