Avtex picture quality

Is it me??? Having been seduced by the advertising and comments in many places saying how good Avtex televisions are I took the plunge. I know they are other makes less expensive but I took the view that it would last a lot longer as it was designed and
built for the tougher life it would get caravaning. Since I received the tv I have been unable to get a good clear picture in my dining room. My old tv which was a Toshiba was excelent but this picture is 'washed out' and no matter whichever setting I change
I am unable to resolve the issue. Has anybody got any ideas?
