Thetford fridge not cool, advice please

We have just purchased a Swift Bessacar 460 coming up to 3 yrs old. We have just had a new fridge as old one did not work. Just trying
the new one and cannot get it to cool after 6 hrs hooked up at home. There is heat/smell from the vent so there is power. Would NOT being level on the drive be the problem? I have 3 thermometers in there which I do know all work. Any advise welcome.
