The absence of lockers in the awning...

Looking at new vans at the NEC this week, we kept coming upon a common problem for us, whereas our current van has two locker doors at the front on the door side of the van - the battery locker and one with access right into the front of the van, the new
ones rarely had battery lockers this side now, we asked why and were told it is now preferable to have the battery located out of the awning ! That's all very well but we have to park our van hard up against a fence so need the locker on the door side to be
able to plug into the electric and (more importantly) to switch on the mover to get it off the driveway. Anyone else affected by this change? It has been reasonable for many years, who has suddenly decided otherwise I wonder Frown
