Bat Abuse

Todays paper reports a study into the high number of dead bats found near wind turbines.
The suspicion was that they were flying into the blades but apparently they suffer a dysbaric injury, i.e. air pressure-related damage to their lungs.
Given that upsetting bats is a big no no in every other context it will be interesting to see how the Government resolves this issue. They can hardly demolish all the wind turbines having built so many so I suppose they will have to look at humane discouragement of bats from approaching wind turbines.
Would an ultrasonic noise generator work? If so, would the government allow bat-infested people to use a similar approach?
