Connection fitting for motorhome awning

I have seen a fitting that looks like a narrow piece of fabric with the rope thread connection to slide into the track of a Fiamma canopy rail and a different size rope thread to slide into a piece of plastic strip. This enabled the owner to fit his awning
top into the plastic and then onto the canopy. I understand that this is needed because the awnings are tpically 6mm thread and the canopy is 8mm, or something similar, which necesitates the link fitting. Can anyone tell me what they are actually called so
