Door friction stay pulled out of fitting

Unfotunately yesterday we had very strong winds on the site we are at and the gusts were frequent. As I opwned the habitation door on my Bessacarr MH a gust pulled it free of my grip and the friction stay was pulled to its end stop. It jammed the shoe in the track & the metal pin on the end of the arm that fits into the shoe came out. I cannot see the mechanism properly until I get some ladders but that appears to be the problem. Luckily no other apparent damage to the door. I would suspect this has happened many times before, does anyone have any knowledge about fixing it? Is it likely a diy fix or will I need the dealer? Any advice appreciated. Regards, Roy
