I have pasted below a report from a Club member regarding a scam. They are not regular posters and the Club asked them to place the details on CT but unfortunately they have done so in the General Stories section so it may well get missed all together
by the vast majority or readers. I guess it would equally apply to selling motorhomes and cars etc.

I could not find it on the forum so have added the information below and thought this was the most appropriate topic heading to post it under. The story is

HERE
and I hope it helps some from getting caught out.

Regards, Roy

'I have got my caravan up for sale on your site and have been contacted via email from a 'buyer' .  This has turned out to be part of a scam and I have contacted the Caravan club and they have asked my to log it here too.

The buyers email is Williamwalker??@gmail.com.  He will ask to transfer money through payal but will then genereate fake paypal emails saying the money has been transfered and ask for you to pay shipping costs - this is where he would collect some money
from you and obviously not transfer money for your caravan.

On the first attempt to contact me the email address came through as williamwalker90s@gmail.com... I have had another email today from williamwalker80s@gmail.com so there are obviously a team working through sites.

Paypal have been advised and have all the fake emails.

Please be very careful'
