Sticking Ducato screen washer valve

I have just discovered that the Y valve that separates the left and rght washer pipes is a non-return valve and can often stick in the shut position. I understand this is a common problem and I shall now get a spare Y valve to carry with me. Unfortunately
for me I burned out the washer pump trying to get the valve to clear so it was a costly error. This was completely new to me so I thought I would share it with you all. The garage said using such as washing up liquid in the washer can sometimes cause it but
all I have ever used is the proper screen wash additive so mine was not down to that. Regards, Roy
