Scotland round trip in 10 days ?!
Having had great advice from this discusion page previously . I come back for more advice!
I am in the very basics of planning but dont want to overplan a trip to Scotland in September. We will be in a motorhome. We are restricted to door to door 10 days. We usually travel to France ,however we have never been to Scotland and really like the idea
of seeing Scotland, bit of the lakes on the way up and and a bit of Yorkshire on the way back ! I know it will only be a small insite of the areas ,but something is better than nothing.
Plan: Travel from the South Coast, Bournemouth area lunch time on a Friday. (work gets in the way!) First stop Lake district. Possibley Kendal. Rough guide 5 to 6 hours??? Not including rest breaks.Or is this a bit too ambiscious?! A couple days in the
area and head towards Scotland. I have found a suggested route itinary by carrying out a search on this site. It follows the West Coast North. We would then like to travel across country to Edinburgh and head South taking in some of Yorshire on the way back.
I am conscious not to try and do to much as will not see anything just driving!
Has anybody completed a similar journey ? I am happy for any advice. The itinary gives us a very basic plan. We are going in September. We will not be booking any camp sites so we have the freedom to choose where we stay ? Will we be attacked by midges
?!
over to you all for advice
Thak you
Andy
