Tow bar electrics

hi everyone,

towbars, I thought I'd made the hard decision fixed or detachable - but now I have to understand the importance of universal (bypass?) electrics or dedicated electrics.

One towbar fitter tells me dedicated are essential another; universal are cheaper and probably have less future complications(in keeping the car electrics (computer) separate from the caravan electrics) and he will fit either?

My tow car is to be a ford c-max 2.0cdti, does any one have any advice?
