As you say, fantastic songs........... but definitely an aquired taste.  Like Oneputt, I love his music, and it's sad to hear that he has died.

when i was in the sixth form, we had a record player in our school 'house' (yes, literally) but we only had two records, and these were played and played until they wore out....

one was Get Yer YaYa's Out (an amzing concert by the Stones, i still have it on Vinyl, CD and digital....)....

and the other was The Songs Of Leonard Cohen.....(Master Song, Stranger Song, Suzanne etc.....)

    great, great days....

    RIP Leonard.....

I was also a sixties fan, still got the Songs of Leonard  Cohen LP played many times with student pals. Haunting lyrics, still with me. Hey, That's no way to say Goodbye.....(with Julie Felix)

I'm so saddened by this news. He was undoubtedly one of the greatest of all that generation of singer/songwriters - the words were magical and he leaves behind so much to remember him by. - Hallelujah, Suzanne, Sisters of Mercy, the list is endless.

In his own words "Goodbye old friend ... see you down the road"

    Leonard Cohen RIP

I really enjoyed and still enjoy his music and lyrics. Wonderful  list of great songs he produced for the world to enjoy.

I doubt if there will be another as talented as Leonard Cohen.

    RIP

Just heard this sad news.  A great loss, but many great songs to keep his memory alive.

    RIP Leonard

Just heard this news; what a great loss.  I have LPs, tapes, and CDs of him and regularly play them.  Dance me to the end of love is one of my favourites, but there are so many great songs and lyrics written by him.

    RIP Leonard Cohen.

His music playing as I work round the house today. The first music I "acquired" was a reel to reel recording in 1967. I now have more legitimate copies. All the studio albums and most live ones.

Even though he was frail and his last album hinted at his end, you hope it's not.

I know I didn'r know him, but his death has affected me more than other famous people this year.

He spoke for me and to me.

Not  Really  a  person  I  ever  rated  until  I  started  reading  the  sleeve  notes  of  some  of  my  'preferred'  singers.  Then  it  seems  about  10%  of  these  were  the  work  of  Leonard  Cohen !
