Something must’ve gone wrong with Club finances or, perhaps it’s my memory.
When I first started (1975) there were plenty of pitches and booking ahead was unnecessary. As far as I recall there was little contention for pitches, so I assume that the ratio of available pitch nights to subscribing members was much higher than it is
today.
Back in those days the Club was running very successfully. It makes me think that the Club has taken its eye off the ball and not reinvested our contributions in a way that has maintained that happy equilibrium.
