Are publications becoming too colourful?

It seems to me that more (CC) publications are becoming too colourful.

Are we supposed to simply look at (and admire?) these publications, rather than read them? Or am I going blind?

The obsession to print text over colour makes much of it unreadable.

Or am I the only one to suffer such an affliction?
