Truma cowl cover removal tool

Hi, has any other caravaner have the same problem that I have just had. Trying to take the cover off my Truma gas flue and it was so hard to get off that I broke the bottom off my cowl. I have heard there is a plastic tool for this purpose but I don't think
it will work on a KBS3 cowl. Any surgestions please
