RAC car and caravan cover

We have just tried to renew our RAC membership only to be told that the RAC will not come out to us if there is a problem with the caravan ie, a flat tyre that we cannot change ourselves, unless we are a member of the Caravan and Camping Club, Caravan Club
membership does not count. Just wondering if anyone else is aware of this as it is the first we have heard.
