The Club regrets to announce that Much Wenlock Caravan Club site will be closing at the end of this season.

Despite the best endeavours of The Club the Landlord has decided to take the site back for his own usage.

Therefore we would like to thank all members who have used this site over the years.

If you’re looking for a site in The Cotswolds and West Midlands then The Club have a fantastic site nearby,

High Onn is a tranquil country site, with views over typical English farmyard towards The Wrekin & Shropshire Hills, ideal for strolls to the Shropshire Union Canal it is also well placed for exploring Ironbridge Gorge Museums and Severn Valley Railway.

There are also many other attractions within easy reach including Weston Park and RAF Cosford and the site also has one of the Clubs most extensive private dog walks.

Why not use The Club’s search and book tool on the website for a superb alternatives for your next break.

Oww!  Such a shame, had a few lovely breaks at this site, minimum facilties site, but lovely just the same.Long and fairly narrow, the course of the old railway along Wenlock Edge, even had an old bridge/tunnel at the far end of the site. Will be missed.  Bye bye,

    Another one bites the dust.

High Onn isn't for me I'm afraid. I did like Much Wenlock very much though.

We were there a few weeks ago. Lovely place. Up on pitch 3 was almost like a CL as you weren't really aware of the rest of the site. One wonders what the landlord is going to do with it. If planning to continue, he'll have to chuck some dosh at it to provide
    a facilities block.

Fair play to the club for letting CT members know.

When we stayed we heard that the owner was planning to put statics there, but this would take time and the site might be open as usual until things change via planning etc.

It's been common knowledge for a while now and I'm really sorry to see it go.

As for stating that High Onn is an alternative, well I'm sorry Rochelle but it's not even in the same county.

Much Wenlock was a brilliant site and just the sort that the club need to replace, ie one without a toilet block at a cheaper rate. Doubt they will though.

We visit the area often so would have used Much Wenlock regularly if it had had facilities - still sad to see any site go even if its not one thats any good for us.

Come on CC get looking for a new site in the Bridgnorth/Much Wenlock area but a proper one with showers and toilets please.

Yes, Stanmore Hall - but an AS is  a totally different thing to a club site. We do use Stanmore Hall but it is more expensive, not as clean and has a totally different way of doing things.

It was a proper site though and very popular. 67 pitches and only the economy one (no electric) available this weekend. Many like such sites

Yep don't rate the access. Particularly as when I used it one very wet June or July I was unsure (because of my chosen route) how long the drive would take and so I phoned the warden (not knowing the site or access) to see if it was a problem if I was up to half an hour early as if not and I made better time than expected I would find a layby. The response was come anytime after 10.30 as we have room. Having driven the last quarter mile to the site I was amazed at that response unless he knew that nobody was due to leave.

64 pitches and 17 available and considering that it is indeed a site that we used because we could not get on Much Wenlock when extending a tour at the end before returnin home it is convenient for many similar areas I don't think that it is as popular. Not as nice a site and last quarter mile of single track I can do without.

We are very sad to lose this wonderful site. We love all the Clubs no facility sites, and when Bromyard Downs goes next year, then this will leave a gaping hole in the West Mids/Shropshire area. Sad

I didn't know Bromyard downs was closing. Indeed that is a shame. Lovely site.

We found out last year on a visit there. Similar situation to MW, I think the lease is up. Real shame, we used to do a lovely tour around Worcestershire and Shropshire using these two sites. I think some has mentioned Ludlow Touring Park does Winter discounts,
might have been Boleroboy, so we could look at this, but too expensive for us in high season. Luckily, we know of a nice basic CL.

It is a great shame the club are losing these two valuable sites. Not only are they reasonably priced to stay on but in such a good location. The club needs to replace these type of sites More Freedom for £14.00 are needed. But I see  more Affiliated Sites
creeping in, before long the Club Sites book will have more of them. The club need to invest in more sites not keep waving AF sites at us. (Whinge over)

We were there earlier on this trip and the wardens told us that the owner
    was
going to run it as a commercial caravan site. Agree with you CY that he'll have to spend a fair bit to put in a toilet block if he hopes to make it pay.

Hear hear. Such a pity to see yet another non-facility site disappear from the network.

It is not a site we have visited but any loss is bad news. The club urgently needs more sites and really needs to get into the market for additions.

Now that sounds promising  - not a club site but one we could use.

Same here, brue. Perhaps we'll see them somewhere on a club site enjoying their retirement.
