Ford Mondeo as a tow car

Hi everyone, I am considering buying a  2012 Ford Mondeo 2.00ltr 140hp to tow my Bailey Pegasus GT65 Verona (MTPLM 1448kg),I have done the sums and it is quite well matched.

 

But the main thing that I am querying is the fuel consumption for towing and solo as the official solo figures are apparently wildly inaccurate and the various towing forums give figures that vary considerably.

 

So I was hoping that maybe some of you fellow club members could give me some  more accurate figures, has anyone owned and towed with one of these cars?
