Nice and easy one for a Tuesday...how do you dry them?

I see lots of people hanging them over the wing mirrors or on airers out of windows but when it's raining, have people come up with creative ways to dry?

Perhaps that is the secret use for the 3kW awning heaters about which we have heard so much on other threads?

I use a towel the size of a hand towel about 80cm x 60cm microfibre. OH has one about 140cm x 65 cm. We dry on radiator in washroom area. OH on rail over radiator, mine in a towel ring in the washroom. When we have been out we switch them over.

If we have done a load of Tee shirts and trousers and we are going out for the day I will have washed them in site machine at around 7am, hung outside until 9am and when we go out hang them off locker handles, in shower with door open and trousers from the
handle of two small skylights using two coat hangers so that the legs are open on trousers. All Tee shirts on coat hangers. Underwear on small carousel hung from window catch in washroom which is close to the radiator. Might be a little like a Chinese laundry
but we will be out until about 4pm by which time most things are dry. When we are away for two weeks at Christmas we have enough clothes not to wash. When on most trips we are away from 4.5 to 7.5 weeks we we need a few washes.

We recentlyu bought 2 of these
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B016MXNWDA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and they are much better than a standard towel and easily dry without getting smelly.

We have also hung towels over the rails for the HEKI lights both when stationary and when travelling, gets a bit of sun and helps the drying process.

We never put them over the mirrors which become encrusted with road muck, dead flies and so on.Yell

When on the move we peg them to the handles of the overhead locker doors. At the end of our journey they are dry, especially if the sun pours through the Heki.

If we're not on the move and they can't be dried outside, we peg them to the locker door handles above the cab. If all else fails we use the Brabantia pull out airier in our washroom on which they will rarely dry.Sad

I have always wondered........do MHers who drape their towels over their wing mirrors clean off the mirrors first?

Just never seen any of them actually doing so.

Brilliant! would you say they absorb water as easily as a "normal" towel? I used to have a "fast drying towel" when I ran and exercised and it seemed to do nothing of any use  - rather just move the water along

This could work beautifully given where my toilet door and blower is - love it!

We use microfibre towels which dries quite quickly, I use skirt hangers to hang them in the awning or shower rail if raining.

I fitted a small electric towel rail in the bathroom. It works well when we're on EHU. I bought it from ebay.

We do exactly the same.  When we're moving between sites we leave the towels hanging on a special rail in the bathroom, and open the bathroom window on to the second 'peg' of the fastening.  It's amazing just how they dry 'in transit'.

If they're not completely dry then they hang with the blown air on full (all other vents closed) and are soon toasty again!

In the past, when we used to holiday in this country where the weather is not so good, we used a plug in fan heater when on site, popped it in the bathroom on the first setting, and left it whilst we were doing other things.  That worked very well in cold,
    damp English weather!

We use both standard terry towels and micro towels. The micro ones dry very quickly hanging on  skirt hangers in the shower room (we have an extender rail across the room) if we are not on the move then we have another longer extender pole (I also use it
as the handle on my sweeping brush) this pole sits just nicely across the tops of the overhead lockers in the cab. I have found this very good for draping terry towels over to dry also for hanging Tshirts etc from hangers, like ET its a bit like chinese laundry
but its at the cab end and in the shower so even if we are in the van its not in the way.

If its nice outside we put them on the bike rack. Its usually more of a problem later in the year. Our bathroom gets pretty warm when the heating is on and we find the towels dry quite well.

We bought four extra large (bath) and two large (hand) towels in 2009 Lifeadaventure. Not cheap but after perhaps 750 nights away they are still as good as new. Two advantages because they dry in a different way (blotting rather than rubbing) they become
less wet and also better for your skin because they don't rub off abrasively natural oils (according to my GP) and they dry themselves much more quickly. Don't recall drying them ever just spread out on the washroom rail. Washroom is heated according to season.

I have reported it to Rochelle who has in turn confirmed she has passed it to the IT Department. I am not sure how many posts were on page 2 but it might be prudent for people to repost any lost posts.

I don't bother, unless they're wet, no point. We also have a rotary washing line but I don't want to start that discussion again

I'll try again as page 2 post now gone.

We have 2 of those twist to lock extender poles, 1 fits the shower room and from this I hang the micro towels using skirt hangers.

The other longer extender pole is used across the cab area, it fits just nice across the top of the over head lockers, from this I can hang the terry towels, or one of those spider kind of hanger, for small items like undies or socks. Like ET it can look
like a chinese laundry but its only when the weather its too wet and windy to hang outside under the canopy. We never hang towels over the mirrors, we have window hangers that we use when the weather allows.

On our previous m/h we had the truma combi boiler.  Used to put the damp towels underneath the lift up seat .  They soon dried.  Now have truma fire and blown air so do put them on mirrors or when heating on in the toilet comp,At last resort use the tumble
    dryer in laundry.
