Motorhome step alarm not working correctly

I have now fixed my Omnistep single auto step issue ( see previous post, not going in properly), The issue now is, when I start the engine the step goes in but the alarm does not go off until I press the power button on the control panel?. I have checked
the swith on the step and this is working fine ( using a tester).
