Alde heating changing antifreeze

Hi All, I have been reading about changing the anti freeze in my 2 year old Lunar. The job seems to be fraught with problems and as my system works perfectly I don't want to upset it. Instead of draining the system is there any reason why you just can't
open the drain and as the level lowers keep it topped up with new fluid. This would be slow but could it prevent air locks and would this method work?
