Water pump issue
Morning all!
I wonder if anybody can help? We arrived at our site last night to find our electrics kept tripping.
After a while I managed to diagnose the issue as being the water pump. This is a whale variety.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this is happening?
It did seem very wet (sound daft for a water pump I know!), so it's been in the van overnight drying out, water on the connection?
Any help i'll be incredibly grateful.

If your sure it is the pump tripping the leaky, is the o ring seal ok or is water or moisture getting to terminal block by running down the side of the housing.
the other option is to buy a spare pump assy,it's always handy to carry a spare even if you solve the problem with your present one.

I am assuming that the tripping out you mention is on the 230v mains side of the van's electrical systems. As the water pump is on the 12v side of the van it is unlikely that the pump is the cause of the tripping out though I accept you think it is. It may
be just a coincidence. I would suspect something on the mains system within the van. For example we once had a microwave which tripped out the bollard, not when it was used, but just when it was plugged in. It took ages to narrow it down by process of elimination.0 -
I would agree with Jeff, probably the heater element, switch it off and run it on gas till you can get it checked out.
Don't forget to remove the cover if it has one before using it on gas.
You can check the element with a multimeter. The resistance should be 100 ohms (ish). If it is 0 ohms (ish) then it has failed open circuit and tripping the breaker. If you can physically get to the element changing it is straight forward. On a Truma Ultrastore there are 2 nuts to undo and two wires to connect.

Sorry all. we normally run everything on electric, as we slways have electric on our pitches. We've become so reliant on just using the electric for water and heating. I now feel pretty daft having just switched the water heater to gas, a "Homer Simpson"
moment for sure.. as in DOH!!!I'll get the elememt checked this week on our return.
I'm so grateful to all for your help. Sincere thanks Family Reed.
