Westfield Air Awnings

Hi all,

I'm researching into purchasing an air awning for my caravan. I'm looking at a ~4m wide awning which seems to be around the largest size available for air awnings.  I've looked at the Kampa models which seem to be well regarded and Vango. However
I really like the look of the Westfield Carina 420. I've never heard of the company (excuse my ignorance) but wondered how reputable / whether anyone on here has had any experience with their awnings?

We recently upgraded our windbreak to one with aluminium props as opposed to guy ropes. The make was Westfield, which is an identical model. So you may be able to pursue a quest link. The Westfield break is very well made and cheaper than Quest. For air
awnings we've had two Outdoor Revolutionns, both returned under warranty and we have a small framed and a larger air Kampa, both Pros. We think that Kampa quality is above average and many others must agree judging by the number of Kampala porches seen on
    sites.

Thanks for your response Jennyc. We've been to look at some demo air frame models by Kampa, Vango, Suncamp and Outdoor Revolution to compare and contrast. The only thing that puts me off some of the models is that the horizontal beams are attached to the
vertical beams with Velcro and at some point the Velcro is going to lose its 'grippiness'.

So after going and seeing them I'm not sure whether they will give the long term robustness of a version with poles.

Our local dealer had an air awning with Velcro attaching the cross beams and they guys who erected it commented that inflating the tubes separately, then fixing them was a pain in the neck. In contrast, Kampa tubes are interconnected so you only need to
pump up from one place. They also have stop valves ana gland nuts at their ends so that you can isolate one if it's leaking. It seems to have amused people on CT to raise the threat of a puncture, which given the double wrapping around strong plastic tubes,
appears unlikely. in any event, a patch kit from Kampala is cheap and looks simple to use.
