i often read of people describing their dogs, usually rescue dogs.  They say the dog has a bit of this breed and a bit of another breed and so on.  Well, for those who don't know, you can get your dog's DNA tested.  Everyone, including us and the people
running the Greyhound Rescue stall at a county show, who saw our dog said there was Greyhound in him.  Wrong.  His DNA showed 50% Border Collie, 25% Collie and 25% Whippet.  The test costs around £60.  You get two swabs and test tubes through the post.  Then
you swab the inside of your dog's cheek, put the swabs in the test tubes and post the lot off.  A week or two later you get the result.  The only thing to be careful of is not to do the swab within two hours of your dog eating otherwise the test will show
that he/she is part chicken, cow, sheep or tuna.  Just Google "dog DNA test".
