Safari room or tent?

Started motorhoming last year so a lot to learn still.

Would welcome advice from other members as to what they regard as the best way to accommodate kids and/or grandkids on trips during the year. Is it best to have an additional tent to pitch alongside van or a safari room utilising existing awning?

Have two berth van with additional two seatbelt for travelling. Omnia 3005 awning. Sunlight T66 van.
