Seasonal myth?

Recently on a small CL site we were told by the occupants of one of the neighbouring pitches that they had only just unwrapped their van for the season, which to them ran from April to the end of September. It got me thinking - we tour all year including
crimbo and New Year! Are we therefore in the minority or do lots of people tour all year now vans are built for it?
