Cycling in Berwick upon Tweed

Hi, myself and the family are going on our first visit to Berwick on 23rd of this month for a weeks stay really looking forward to some where new, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it`s worth me hauling the push bikes 3 hrs up the A1 to use when
we get there, thanks.
