Replacing tyres
I'm sure this will have been discussed before but couldn't find it. I need to replace the tyres on my 2012 Elddis Avante 554. At present it has 175/75 R 14 C 99/98 tyres fitted and the original spec was for 175 R 14 99. Having problems sourcing tyres at
these sizes and have been told I can go to a 185 or change to a 175/70. Can anybody confirm or suggest what sizes I can fit in terms I can understand?

Etyres (they come to you) list 175/75/R14 99T Bridgestone Duravis R630 at £87.50 each. Don't know if that's any help.

Thanks for the replies, I am now sorted and will be safely re-shod early next week.

Phil - out of interest, do you have a mover fitted?
I too have been looking into replacment tyres for a while now.
Ours came with 175 R14 C 99 - which I understand have a profile of 80 (although it doesn't say on them).
This gives an overall diameter of 636mm
If I change to 185/80 R14 they have an overall diameter of 652mm which would interfere with the mover.
If I change to 185/75 R14 they have an overall diameter of 634mm - which shouldn't be a problem with the mover. Trouble is, this isn't a very common size and could be difficult to find a replacment in an 'emergency'.
The reason I want to change to the 185 width is that they have a load rating of 102 (850kg) rather than the 175 wide rating of 99 (775kg). I think that the loading of 2x775 = 1550kg is too tight for our 1500kg caravan.
Trouble is, am I right in thinking that the profile of my existing tyres is 80?? This could affect the whole size calculations.

Yes Ian ..... you're right. Unless it says different a tyre is 80% profile
It shshouldn't be too hard to adjust your mover if needed
Well, the last time I adjusted it there were a lot of sore knuckles and expletives!
I think I'll measure the gap and see how much room I've got to play with.
