Where to go?

Hoping you good people could suggest a nice place for me and my wife + plus our friends&2 kids to go at the end of June.

We are up in the North East, near Durham & would be happy to travel for up to 3 hours.

They will be pitching a tent, so needs to be somewhere that will allow that.

Would be good if it was a place with something to do for the kids.  I was thinking a nice beach somewhere on the East coast, but no sure where.

 

Anyone got any ideas?
