Not allowed EHU on Paid for Pitch? Why?

I was reading a thread the other day about leaving the caravan uninhabited on site for a couple of nights as permitted by the club. I have done this on a couple of occasions and told the warden I will be offsite for a night or two. On one occasion I wanted
to join a dozen friends in a hotel 100 miles away for the weekend. Off site 9am Friday and return 9pm Sunday. Fine.

However according to the other thread it seemed that the concensus view was that the pitch fee and the fee for one adult should be paid for those 2 nights. No problem - when there has been two adults I have never asked for any refund but that seems reasonable.
However the concensus is that you are told to disconnect from EHU. Why? If that is the case I shall tell the warden that I have to go off site but that OH is remaining and ask for a refund of 1 adult fee. I see no reason why in hot weather I should leave fridge
and freezer off or why in depths of winter I should drain down and winterise my outfit when my pitch fee covers EHU.
