Almost a disaster!
We are away in the van this weekend, I woke bright and early to gorgeous sunshine, such a nice change from the rain of the previous day. It's not very often I fancy a full English and the wife looked on, puzzled as I got bussy with the bacon and eggs.
As soon as we had eaten our breakfast I thought I would go the extra mile and get some more browny points by doing the washing up, as I started to prepare the sink I was confronted with a terrible burning smell, then when I started to move things around smoke
started to rise from the glass hob where the electric kettle was stood, horror of horrors, I had put the glass top down without turning the gas ring off! The plastic base of the kettle has now taken on a whole new melted and twisted look Things
could have been a lot worse had I decided to linger and not got straight up to wash the pots, so all you infrequent kitchen users like me beware, and remember to turn the gas rings off before you close the lid. On a more positive note, I am now baned from
ever using the kitchen again
Allan.
