White water has had an "earlier "arrival since it was taken over by cc maybe it's a lease thingy?

I have now actually received a reply from the CC saying they are sorting these inaccuracies out. However, they have been doing this since June, so don't hold your breath. it may be that with the recent revamp they changed their arrival policy at Whitewater, or it may just be wrong. I suppose the only way of being certain of the arrival time, even if you have visited before, is to ring the wardens.

Out of interest I phoned the Wardens office. The lady that answered said that the 10am was from before th CC took over and that the CC was not able to correct the e-mail info. I can't see why though?

it will be linked into the much vaunted new website, aqualung required to facilitate holding your breathe on this one. If it ever happens, 15 months and counting now.........Undecided

The CC have been running the site for a lot of years, so seems a strange excuse.  Also given it is the CC that send out the emails, it is hard to understand why it would be so difficult to change. I am sure the wardens can't change them but the IT departnent
??? What hope for the new forum if they can't change the info in an email.

I asked a previous warden (not the one who is there now) about this, he said yes he was happy for you to arrive any time from 9am and they had altered the arrival to 10 from 12 because there was no issue with two outfits passing each other on the road.  You would just restrict yourself to possibly less choice of free pitches if you arrived early.

That was a few years ago though and the wardens have definitely changed so the current ones may well not see it that way.

I thought Whitewater, Coniston and Edinburgh were three sites which had a 10am onwards arrival  (there may be others) we arrived at Consiton well before 12pm, no problems.

edit perhaps Whitewater times have changed after the re-development?

Surely having an arrival time BEFORE the last departure time, there is the possibility of there being no available pitches for the new arrivals, at busy times?

Sure to be someone gone by 10.a.m. The Edinburgh club site even allows arrivals at 9 am.

Then you would just have to wait until a pitch became available.  Not a major problem.

    The IT staff are useless.

Just arrive any time after 10am......the site staff can hardly tell you to go away, if you have an email from HO confirming this time.

Well the last time we stayed there you would have had the usual "Hello welcome to our site etc etc the arrival time has been 10.00 for quite awhile. I did ask the warden about it when we were there, as vans were arriving earlier than on other sites we had
stayed on. The warden said " we have no access problems so why not" pretty reasonable chap I thoughtWink Edinburgh CC site is the same 10.00 arrival.

The sites involved are generally large sites with no access problems so staggering the arrivals over a longer period makes sense.

We used to use the site quite a lot as we visit the area regularly.  We often arrived between 10 and half past after my conversation with the warden confirmed it was ok.  We havent been there for a while but it sounds like the present warden is more of a
jobsworth and has changed it back to the standard 12 o'clock.

That's well confusing then.  Anybody who takes the CC email at face value with an arrival time of 10am, but doesn't ring the site beforehand to double-check (and how many people would do that?) would run the risk of being turned away if they arrived before 12 o'clock.

Having checked the "important information" it also states 12 o'clock, but again, how many people will click on that when booking?  It's the email that people possibly print out and take with them (I do) and reading that tells you earliest arrival is 10am.
