have spend two days now looking for a tow car and its driving me mad.  We have a coachman vip 545/4 2009 model 1635 mtpl 1444 miro. Having wandered round the Internet have found out that the caravan club calculator is not always correct on bhp etc nor is
auto trader. We have a budget of up to £3,500 looking for a diesel which will pull our van. So far have seen Kia sedona and sorento, hyundai terracan and Nissan terrano.  Any suggestions would be gratefully received as climbing the walls at the minute.   Ta

2005/6 Hyundia Santa Fe will tow that no problem (1500kg towing weight). Should get a good one for that, great tug, reliable, not too expensive to run and well equipped.

Just topped 100,000 in mine and in no rush to update it, and I tow a Swift Charisma 555 weighing in at 1448 plus a bit as it has a motor mover.

Unless I read that weight wrong, in which case Sorento, for the same reasons (sister company to Hyundai)

I probably only get about 29mpg driving around solo localIy. Doesn't seem to alter much towing on a journey. But other people say they can get above 35mpg in other vehicles when towing? Mine is an auto. My son has a new Audi Q5, that can return 50mpg solo.

My R320 does mid 20s around town, driven like Mother Superior on a run can see low 30s and low 20s when towing.
