Thetford toilet - bottom of pump popping off

Hi All,

This happened abut a year ago and has just happened again. The bottom of the pump assembly (within the flush tank) pops off during a flush stroke. Since the last time I have moderated my pumping effort (makes me giggle to type that) but I have just felt
it go again. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a more permanent fix than just withdrawing the assembly and forcing the base back on?
