Fiamma roof fan not working

Our fan has stopped working, still has power to it but whirls for about 10 seconds then stops! OH has taken apart and can see no obvious damage. Anyone had similar problems, know how to fix or is it kaput? Temperature makes no difference as stopped working
in France when fairly chilly, now in Portugal and it's warm. Thanks
