Hi all. Does anyone know of a lochside/lakeside CL site? We are looking for a basic in-the-middle-of-nowhere sort of place with lots of walking areas for our two dogs. We only need basic electric/water. We would appreciate any recommendations/tips. Thank
you.

Try Gartfairn CL on Loch Lomond.  It has water, electric and part hard standing for £12 a night.  It has views of Loch Lomond and you can walk for miles in either direction on the West Highland Way, climb Conic Hill or just stroll the mile into Balmaha to
the Oak Tree Inn for a pint.  Great site.

What's the access road like, WH? From what I remember they are quite narrow aon that side of the loch.

Before Balmaha, it's not bad at all.  We've never given it a second thought.  Gartfairn is about a mile from Balmaha and even on the busiest of summer weekends you shouldn't encounter any parked cars at the side of the road.

After Balmaha (and the dreaded incline) it's quite a bit narrower and can get very clogged with cars on a sunny weekend.  I have friends who live in Rowardennan at the end of the road and in the past they have been unable to get out as the road is blocked
    by cars!
