Pitch Markers

Hi,

I'm currently on the Tewesbury Abbey site which I love and have visited many times, I have a question , I own a caravan and on arrival I'm always instructed to pitch my van rear driver side to the pitch marker which I always dutifully adhere to however,
some Motorhomes seem to park however they choose ?

Is there one rule for caravaners and for motorhomes ?
