Barclaycard Site Vouchers

Following a letter received from Barclaycard that they were terminating the CC card, we decided to apply for 2 site vouchers as we had enough points to qualify for this 'perk'. On phoning Barclaycard we were told to ensure that we destroyed the CC card when
we no longer used it. This we did. Imagine our surprise when we presented the letter and a site voucher at a club site recently, to be told that the voucher was not viable unless the credit card was presented as well. We have been members for 17 years, to
be told that the vouchers were worthless was a complete shock. Beware, the vouchers are valid for a year, so DO NOT destroy your old CC card, or you will not be able to use it. Who makes these rules? In order to sign into the club site, you need your CC membership
card and we were using a credit card with our names on it, and it still wasn't acceptable. The club seems to be going RULE mad, perhaps that's why the meembership is in decline.

As long as you have the letter and can prove you are the recipient, this should be sufficient. I would take it up with head office.

Steve is right. It's the cards OR the letter. You don't need both.

I claimed a voucher today.....no mention of destroying the card.

Why would they tell me to? Presumably they want me to continue using it.

The barclaycard caravan card is being phased out, to be replaced by a 'voucher scheme'. We said that we did not want to be bothered with another points system, so we were advised to destroy the card!

The checking of the credit card when presenting site night vouchers, I think, was to try and stop people selling them on. It was a bit meaningless really as there was no check as to whether the vouchers were issued against the card presented. My wife and
I both have seperate CC credit card accounts and we each had one voucher. When presented the wardens only checked my card so I could have purchased any number, well, up to 5 anyway.
