Question re Buying caravan at NEC in Oct 2013

Hi everybody. We're (hopefully) going to buy our first caravan at the NEC show in October. From your experience do dealers ask for the whole price upfront or do you normally leave a deposit/sign a contract and pay the balance upon delivery? I'm guessing
the new models won't be available for delivery until early 2014 and it will be a shame to hand over all the money in October and not have anything to show for it for a few months. Thanks!
