In Car Warning Signal

Just had a detachable tow bar fitted to my Skoda Superb. When the electrics are connected to the caravan I am not getting any warning signal, neither visual or audible. The towbar fitters say I will only get a warning if there is something wrong. This does
not seem right to me and also I am concerned that it is not legal especially with new MOT regulations.

Anybody had the same problem?
