I recently posted how great the support was at Avtex - as my 12v cable ceased to work - and they promised to send me a new one under warranty.  Parcel arrived and contained a Remote Control!  So I called them back and very helpful man asked if I had checked the fuse in the DC cable.  Which I hadn't as I didn't know anything about them.  On checking I found that the end had come loose and there was actually no contact left to make the connection.

What I am saying is check that the end of your 12v cable is still screwed in tight - or you may end up with no contact.  I now have the new cable - and sent them back the old one  which is clearly lacking some spring bit.  (and sent back the remote!)

I still rate Avtex support as very helpful although I can't quite understand how I was sent a remote and not a cable - but from my call on Monday - I am sorted by Friday1
