Site rec sth of Manchester and nrth of Birmingham

Could anyone recommend lovely sites close to a) south of Manchester and b) Birmingham. My son is competing at events at Platt Fields Manchester in August and Perry Park Birmingham in July. The only CC site I can find south of Manchester is adult only. My
son is 14 years old and will be at both events from early in the morning each day getting back late each evening. So we just want really nice sites close to M6 in both instances which have easy access, as we have a long outfit and newish to towing. The South
of Manchester recommendation is needed as we plan to depart straight from here to Cornwall and we don't want to double back on ourselves to collect the van ( we actually live only an hours drive north of Manchester). Thanks
