Community Champions, who are they?

I see that we have Community Champions. Who are they? How did they get appointed and what is their brief?? I think that Club officers be they paid or elected should have an indication on their posts. On other forums we get, Moderator, or Admin etc. shown.
I think it was a good idea to indicate Staff, perhaps this could be extended. For example I see one ordinary Member is actually the Club Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee.
