Gas T connector
In my old 1990 ABI caravan I connected two gas cylinders through a T connector with no ill effects. It meant that when one cylinder ran out asll I had to do was turn that one off and turn on the full one. I was thinking of doing the same with my 'new' Coachman.
I have just followed a link in an e-mail from Leisureshop direct and read the following.
Q. Can I connect 2 gas bottles to a t piece before joining to motorhome
A. If your motorhome was built after 2004 then this is not permitted as the rubber hoses contain high pressure gas. Before 2004 the gas regulator was mounted on the gas bottle itself and therefore it was possible to join
the two cylinders with a 'T' connection as the rubber pipes contained only low pressure gas.
I knew that the gas in my old caravan was low pressure because of the arrangement with the regulator, but Idid not think about the same for the Coachman. I suppose it is back to the drawing board and try to get an auto switchover valve. Because I dont look
pretty in my pyjamas at 6am trying to change gas cylinders over when it is pouring with rain, I find it brings on an attack of turettes...
