Am I alone in thinking that the design of Dometic fridge vents (external) is very, very poor? The little stub that is part of the frame and is used to secure the louvred vent is, by design, extremely weak. I have just had to replace the lower of the two
vents having found the stub had broken and the new, genuine, replacement demonstrates how poor the design is. Bearing in mind that replacement is not a simple "clip and fix" job but requires replacement of the frame (with associated re-sealing). If having
to pay for this repair I am sure the cost of parts and labour would easily be £80 to £100 per vent.

Whilst I could easily bodge the repair with a cable tie or similar I have no desire to do so as the engineer in me likes things to be right!
