Design faults built in?
I own a 2007 Abbey caravan that I store at home on a flagged area that slopes down from the hitch end. The caravan has a Thetford make fridge that will not operate unless the caravan is within three degrees of level and to overcome this I park it on 2inch
thick plywood boards.
There is just 6inches clearance between the rear of the caravan and the house gutter which is not a problem until I need to fit the Alko wheel lock and the fixing does not line up or the tyre valve is in the way. To overcome this I purchased an Alko hydraulic
jack [half price off ebay] so that I could lift the caravan to rotate the wheel. The jack will not lift the caravan high enough without placing it on a wooden block and that causes the bottle jack handle to foul on the spare wheel carrier which has to be undone
and moved to one side.
How much thought have Alko put into the wheel lock and jack points?
