Suzuki Grand Vitara as towcar

Still on my quest to find a new tow car trawling through possible makes and models I came across the Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.4 petrol version. I have always liked the look of the G V but have been put off by the 1.9 Renault sourced diesel engine due to the dreaded DPF. So I would welcome any views on the G V 2.4 I believe was introduced in 2008, also have the problems with the 1.9 diesel been sorted as I only do 7k miles a year with quite a lot of short runs but up to 2k of them towing.       Thanks all.
