Visiting Tourist Attractions with your caravan?
Like many other people, I am sure, when I plan caravan stays or tours I look up places I would like to visit whilst I am away. I have always been a bit sorry that often I nearly go past the end of the road to tourist attractions on my towing route (for instance
Bletchley Park at Milton Keynes when en route from Norfolk to Bladon Chains CC site near Oxford) and have been tempted to stop off with the car and caravan, to save time and fuel going back once at the caravan site.
I have never done it, and Bletchley Park is a good example- most of the car parking is small tarmac areas between the close-together buildings, as I discovered when I visited when based at Cherry Hinton Cambridge CC site- I don't think the staff at Bletchley
Park would be very happy with people turning up with cars and caravans attached.
Anyway, this thought came back to me this past week, when I visited Belton House (National Trust) near Grantham - admittedly, the car park is a large grass field- and I saw a car (with Scottish registration plate and a caravan with 'Ecosse' on it) parked
beside the fence- with corner steadies lowered.
I suppose the other problem is possible theft, and related to that, whether insurance is invalidated.
So, I think I will just stick to towing past the attractions to the caravan site, then driving the car on its own back to the attractions.
