Trail of destruction, for what?
On returning home yesterday from a two week break, I was given some very bad news concerning a long time friend of mine.
Sometime between 04:00am and 04:30am Sat 10th Sep he awoke to find that his caravan was ablaze. He and his wife evacuated their house and called the fire brigade who were already attending a caravan fire in another nearby road.
Apparently some mindless low life had set fire to one caravan kept on an elderly ladies drive and then moved on to torch my friends caravan before next targeting a Berlingo belonging to an elderly disabled gentleman.
The charred chassis is now all that remains of his caravan and the flames also engulfed his wife’s nearby car. Other heat damage caused to his house included melted windows, facia and guttering, cracked windows and burned down perimeter fencing. He lives
on a corner plot with a large garden otherwise who knows what could have happened.
What these scum do not know or care about is that my friend is only just recovering from cancer treatment and his wife is already being treated for depression.
The OH and I visited them today to offer some support and I am pleased to say they have had many offers of help and one lady who does not even know them called with a bunch of flowers for his wife.
I am lost for words to describe whoever did this mindless act and caused so much heartache and distress to such a lovely couple.

Are these the fires at Euxton, Neveramsure? Absolutely awful, thankfully no one was killed, they so easily could have been.
Someone must know who's responsible. Scum indeed.
Yes they were at Euxton and I agree someone must know who is resposible. The police are still doing house to house enquiries, with no results yet.

Attempting to understand these people is pointless Nevers. They do what they do in a thoughtless manner usually borne of anger against no one in particular, it won't be a personal thing against your friends just a mindless act of arson. I am in no way condoning
their actions. Most victims ask-"why me?" the simple answer is the arsonist found the right place at the right time. My heart goes out to the sufferers.0 -
I felt very sad to read your post and can't begin to imagine how your friends must be feeling. I'm pretty certain that the local police will have a fair idea who is responsible but might have problems in getting the evidence to prove it.
Best wishes to your friends and I hope they can gain some comfort from knowing that people like you do care.

The latest news is that the police have four “people” in connection with the arson attacks.
I can’t print what I think of them.

Whilst it does not help the victims, I am pleased that the police have got some people for this mindless violence. Please keep us up to date with this situation. particularly if and when it gets to court and they are, hopefully, sent down.
My heart goes out to all those affected.

I see on my local news that some pillock has gone on the rampage with a fork-lift. Makes you wonder what goes on inside the heads of some.
