Caravanning for the rich or rip off prices?

I recently bought an external gas BBQ for the van, our local caravan main dealer wanted £89 for the model I wanted, our customer discount card gave us a 10% discount. (Forget if price included vat?) it wasn't in stock and would take a week to arrive from
the south of England.  I bought exactly the same model through the Internet for £64.99 inc vat and delivery. It came from overseas (Ireland) and arrived in 2 days. I then needed some gas hose for the BBQ so went to my local caravan main dealer again, it was
over £3 per metre. I wanted 1.5mtrs but they only sold it in metre lengths and I was told to throw the extra half metre away! I explained that regulations state that 1.5mtrs is the maximum safe length allowed on sites and it was unfair to ask me to pay for
something I didn't need. I've just got the hose from a secondhand caravan shop for £2.25 per metre and yes I got 1.5 metres! Has anyone else had similar experiences from main dealers or elsewhere? Frown
